Dr. Ahmad Usman Shahid has a PhD in Accounting and Corporate Governance from Macquarie University, Australia. His professional career spans over a decade. He has worked in accounting practice and as an academic with broader experience in teaching, designing, and coordinating tertiary-level courses in accounting. Engaged in dynamic and impactful research, he stands as an active and committed researcher in accounting, auditing, and international business in general. His research program adopts an interdisciplinary approach to improving the quality of accounting, auditing, accountability, sustainability, and governance across countries adopting international accounting and governance standards.
His contributions to the academic world, business, global NGOs, and governments have been recognized by awards, international research grants, invitations to provide research leadership to overseas universities, and invitations by governments to improve accounting and governance. He has published in leading scholarly journals, defined as those ranked as A and B by the Australian Business Deans’ Council. His publications are widely cited in the literature and include 1031 citations (704 since 2018), an h-index of 8, and an i10-index of 8 (Google Scholar). He is on the review board of eight scholarly journals, including International Journal of Managerial Finance, Asian Review of Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Organizational Change, International Journal of Bank Marketing, International Journal of Emerging Markets, Emerging Markets Finance, and Trade, Sustainable Development, and International Journal of Social Economics. Dr. Shahid has also supervised postgraduate students and received an international research grant from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
Dr. Shahid’s dedicated service as a lecturer at COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan, spanned over five years, where he not only excelled in teaching but also actively contributed to the academic community. Beyond the classroom, he assumed the roles of a Presenter, Reviewer, and Program Committee Member for numerous national and international conferences, showcasing his commitment to advancing scholarly dialogue on a global scale. Dr. Shahid’s academic influence is extended to various corners of the world, with active involvement in conferences held in Australia, Turkey, and Pakistan. His impact was not confined to teaching and research alone; Dr. Shahid took on the crucial role of a course advisor for undergraduate programs, counseling students on their academic journeys. Moreover, his leadership extended to leading university-level committees, including pivotal roles in accreditation and compliance committees.
