    Dr Qaisar Khan is the Program Director of MBA at the Canterbury Institute of Management. He holds a PhD in Development Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, South Korea, and an MBA from Pakistan. With over a decade of experience in higher education across Australia and overseas, he has taught in diverse academic settings and published in internationally recognised journals such as the Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy, Journal of Asian Economics, JMIR, BMC Psychology, and Digital Health. His research and policy work have collectively attracted over AUD 1 million in funding.

    Dr Khan has made notable contributions to education reform and innovation. He played an instrumental role in establishing the School of Education at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 2018. Having worked with internationally recognised academics and industry partners, he helped co-design and deliver an innovative curriculum in education leadership and management that nurtures and support the education workforce in one of the world’s largest education systems. As a consultant, he has worked with organisations such as the World Bank, DFID, Oxford Policy Management, and the UN on large-scale education sector reforms, focusing on assessment, performance management, and governance. From 2018 to 2020, he served as an advisor to the Government of Pakistan on initiatives including education workforce development, private sector mapping, and education leadership and management as part of the Accelerated Improvement Plan.

    Before joining academia, Dr Khan gained nearly seven years of management experience in both the not-for-profit and corporate sectors. This diverse background has equipped him with a unique perspective that he integrates into his academic pursuits. He is a non-resident fellow at the Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability at Monash Business School and holds research affiliations with the Brain and Mind Center at the University of Sydney, RAND corporation, IDEAS, and the Mahbub-ul-Haq Research Center at LUMS. He is also a member of the Curriculum Advisory Board at NUST and a regular contributor to the East Asia Forum at the Australian National University.
