    BIO

Ms. Tanzila Younas is a dedicated educator and researcher with over 15 years of experience in engineering education, statistics, and research. Currently serving as Lecturer at Canterbury Institute of Management (CIOM) in Sydney, she brings a wealth of expertise in mechatronics engineering, robotics, STEM education, and business statistics. As Unit Coordinator for Business Statistics, she develops and delivers comprehensive statistical education that equips students with analytical skills essential for business decision-making. She is also pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Sydney, further advancing her contribution to the academic field.

Throughout her academic career, Tanzila held the position of Assistant Professor at SZABIST University in Karachi, Pakistan, where she demonstrated exceptional teaching excellence and academic leadership from 2015 to 2023. Her commitment to innovation in education is evidenced by her concurrent role as Head STEM Instructor at Robotics-World (Pvt) Ltd., where she led curriculum development and instructional innovation while mentoring teaching staff and implementing cutting-edge pedagogical approaches. Her expertise spans both technical engineering disciplines and quantitative business subjects, enabling her to bridge theoretical concepts with practical applications.

As an accomplished researcher, Tanzila has secured competitive research funding and produced an impressive portfolio of scholarly work, including 15 peer-reviewed journal articles in international publications, 19 papers in international conference proceedings, and 3 book chapters published by Springer. Her research achievements have been recognized through prestigious grants, including the RTP Scholarship (2024) and Elevate Scholarship (2025) in Australia, the Innovative Seed Fund ($35,000 from the Higher Education Commission at national level), and multiple Ignite funding awards for innovative projects such as the Computer Vision Robotic Arm and Bio-Diverse Disposable Plate Making Machine, for which she holds a pending patent.

Beyond her teaching and research accomplishments, Tanzila has demonstrated strong leadership in academic service, having served on judging panels for mechanical engineering competitions and exhibitions. She holds memberships in professional bodies including Engineers Australia, Pakistan Engineering Council, and the Institute of Engineers Pakistan. Her diverse industrial experience, ranging from trainee engineer to customer support roles across Pakistan, New Zealand, and Australia, enriches her classroom teaching with practical insights that bridge theory and real-world application, particularly in statistical analysis and data-driven decision making.
